Fixing screws should always be screwed into the higher part of the profile when installing corrugated steel roof sheets to purlins and stitch screws are used to stitch the steel sheet to sheet or to fix to steel flashings. Use a piece of similar style corrugated roofing to patch holes. As with all of the fixing screws provided you can use a colour cap to hide the stainless steel head. It is important that the maximum support centres given for the type of corrugated sheet being used are not exceeded between purlins.

For corrugated sheets the fixings required will depend on the material used in the purlins. Corrugated roofing sheets should be installed into the corrugated sheets crown using a 65mm tek screw with baz washer. When fixing through the sheet directly into a timber purlin a 65mm timber tek screw is recommended. Wear hearing and eye protection.

For example fixing into wood a 65mm tek screw with a baz washer is suggested. Circular saw 2 x research source slower than angle grinder but follow same step 2 pre drill holes on the ridges. Angle grinder 1 x research source the fastest option. Commence fixing sheets at the lower edge of the roof at the opposite end to the prevailing winds.

The general advice for fixing is 4 5 screws across the sheets purlin we advise using 1 screw on the overlap of the next sheet. Most panels come up to 32 feet 9 8 m in length. Some panels have pre drilled holes. For securing corrugated sheeting longer screws are required as you are fixing into the crown of the sheet. Corrugated metal profiles for walling applications may be valley fixed providing the sealing element is designed and shaped to ensure a seal against the curved valley profile. Allow for a minimum of 18 inches 46 cm if you need to lap to complete the run.
